DJ Eurostarz began recording in 1996 in Milan with Claudio Pellisero (aka Claud 9, who is a well established Italian DJ producer and musician and well known for his work with the Tamperer) for Red Music, Italy. The tracks were published by Warner Chappell and Universal released the single ‘Virtually’ in which the video was regularly viewed on MTV Europe.
The album, ‘Music for Young Flyers’ received critical success in the United Kingdom in which critics from the Mix Magazine applauded Eurostarz as “maestros of chill out’. Some of the tracks from this album were featured in the film ‘Venti’ which won best soundtrack award at the Brooklyn Film Festival, NY.
During 1996 to 2000, Mike was working with vocalist Loretta Heyward (Bomb the Base), and ‘Trip and Hop’ was the next track released featuring on a Blockbuster International compilation and with Warner-Chappell Publishing. In this period Mike was also recorded with ‘Sine Causa’ (Italian group) for the German Magic World of Music label and song writing with Malcolm Fisher (LTM label, UK.). Mike was also working on jingles for TV, radio advertising and documentary soundtracks, and a number of Claud 9 tracks appeared in videos that rotated on MTV Europe for a period of time.
From 2000 onwards, Mike continued to collaborate with Claud 9 on tracks for release. The first release was ‘Addicted’ which included a successful, but controversial video released on MTV Europe. Again these tracks were snapped up by Warner-Chappell Publishing. The video to accompany the single release ‘d..lake’ won the best video release in Italy accolade that appeared on the ‘Eye Hear’ album.
Mike was also collaborating with ‘Corruption Films UK’ on documentary soundtracks produced for the BBC (UK) and ITV (UK) and ‘City Films’, London providing tracks for short films and stage production.
At the present time Mike continues to collaborate with Claud 9 and has recently began re-mixing tracks by DJ producer Craig Mauro, for Vortex Records, New York. His second album is ready to be released and Mike is already working on his third.
