KD logo WEB BLACK pr#640D54 copy (600)KarmaDeva formed at the beginning of 2006 with all four members situated in the Midlands.  They started playing a number of small shows locally and soon gained an elite fanbase within the Birmingham area.  This was helped by the fact that after only a few months of playing together, KarmaDeva portrayed versatility within their influences such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey who were all considerably noticeable in their energetic live sets.  As a result, KarmaDeva gained opportunities to play more and more shows in every corner of the UK.  The band’s pioneering blend of post-punk and ambient music makes them a breath of fresh air within the industry, as well as being instantaneously noticeable which is improved tenfold by the work of charismatic frontwoman JJ Stanness.  In no less than six months KarmaDeva were featured in the likes of Kaleidoscope Magazine and Bubblegum Slut.  From this, the band were playing bigger shows by the minute in places like Madame JoJo’s in Soho and the well-renowned Dublin Castle in Camden Town, all receiveing an incredibly warm reception.

Through much determination and fortitude, the band, backed up by Pete Stannes on bass, Gavin Loynes on drums and Beau Stevens on guitar, mangaed to secure a management deal with Horus Music at the start of 2008.  Subsequently, KarmaDeva have released debut LP ‘Disgrace’ to much praise and admiration leading to them to share stages with the likes of Dr Feelgood, The Damned and the notorious Arthur Lee and Love.  What’s more their fanbase is growing at an exceptional speed with over 9,000 friends on Myspace and positive reviews from TotalRock.com, Vogue and Decode magazine.  KarmaDeva have a number of festival slots and summer shows lined up throughout the UK.
