Morning Call

Towards the end of 2004, four lads from Blackburn got together with the same interest of writing indie rock anthems similar to those of Oasis, The Stone Roses and Doves.  They are identified as Morning Call and have gone from strength to strength in the four years in which they have been together.  After playing a great number of intimate shows up and down the UK, in early 2006 Morning Call had begun to obtain reviews from local press, such as the Lancashire Evening Telegraph quoting them as ‘the heart of the Blackburn music scene’.  The band, fronted by Tony Sharples and supported by Carl Elmer on drums, guitarist Chris Dickinson and Andy Macauley playing keyboards have been busy with press reviews and releases ever since signing with Horus Music.  From this, oppportunity arising, they achieved slots at the Darwen Live festival and the Courtyard Campaign, a three day festival held in Blackburn.  As well as this, they also supported up and coming indie heroes The Suffrajets and, prior to the release of their debut EP, played a number of well received acoustic sets throughout the country creating a status for themselves as the hotly-tipped up and coming band on the scene.

In late 2008 Morning Call sold out of their debut single ‘A Little Late’ gaining them a UK chart rating at twenty six.  In addition to this, the band released the second single in April to much of the same success.  Morning Call are currently working on their album with legendary producer Mark Jones and have since gained praise on their releases from Messa Music and Room13.com.
