Science Vs Romance were formed from the ashes of bands in the Midlands. Matthew Vale (vocals/guitar) was playing bass in The Fight when he decided it was time to begin a new musical journey and from early 2006 decided it was time to create something innovative and form a fresh start. Vale and four others, including Stuart Nicholls (guitar), Allen Oakes (drums), and Adam Harper (bass) all originate from Stourbridge and create a unique blend of indie guitar pop. Since emerging on the scene, they have been uncontrollable in their musical excursions. Only a few months after forming, they mananged to generate an EP, perform a number of shows on the local live circuit, and above all organise a photoshoot with award winning artist Carl Beebee. Shortly afterwards, Science vs Romance were on local playlist Brumcast 21 and had recollection from Ryan’s Gig Guide in reviewing their debut demo. Consequently, Science vs Romance were featured as band of the week on the Stourbridge Myspace Profile, a mere ten days after the aforementioned review, thus playing on Monochrome Museum Internet Radio. As their fanbase and talent grew, so did their appearances on Brumcast.

A whole eighteen months later and Science vs Romance have played gigs for BBC Black Country, had fills on Kerrang! Radio, and supported larger names within the underground including Circa Survive and Attack In Black. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this band have come a long way since the release of their debut EP and by casting the likes of Sigur Ros, Minus The Bear, Radiohead and The Cure, their work has definitely not gone unnoticed.
