During 2008 Paul Birch of Revolver Music Limited also known as Revolver Records has been selling audio by artist Adam Bomb without permission. Birch was repeatedly requested to take down the material but ignored communications. At the start of January 2009, Horus Music became involved and successfully had the material taken down directly with many download stores, but Birch still refused to pay up on sales despite Horus Music having an exclusive licence agreement for the world.
Today, at the Leicester County Court, Revolver Music was forced to face justice for their behaviour. The company offered weak excuses that had no basis of fact or law. This is our first time of having to resort to legal action against pirates and we are very pleased with the outcome. The court found that our paperwork and reasoning was sound and justified and therefore awarded in our favour, nearly doubling the initial claim against Revolver. Piracy is a big issue for this industry, but having people who work within the industry act as pirates themselves who should be looking after artists’ rights is just not acceptable and Horus Music has a zero tolerance against these people and will enforce where needed.
